Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust serves a population of around 450,000 people across most of West Sussex. The Trust runs three hospitals: St.Richard’s Hospital in Chichester, Southlands Hospital in Shoreham-by-Sea and Worthing Hospital in the centre of Worthing.
Becaming an NHS Foundation Trust in 2013, the organisation was created by a merger of the Royal West Sussex and Worthing and Southlands Hospitals NHS trusts four years earlier.

The National Health Service (NHS) is the public health services of England, Scotland and Wales. Established as one of the major social reforms following the Second World War, the founding principles are the provision of comprehensive, universal, and free at the point of delivery healthcare.
Today providing a comprehensive range of health services, the four National Health Services in 2015–16 employed around 1.6 million people with a combined budget of £136.7 billion.
